Companies have a responsibility to respect human rights. This is because companies are important social actors that influence the lives of employees in the company as well as along the supply chains through their activities and business relationships. They bear the risk that their business activities may have a negative impact on human rights. This is partly due to globalization and the growing complexity of supply chains. Therefore, corporate due diligence forms the second pillar of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. As a result, the implementation of human rights due diligence throughout the supply chain will become a key instrument for social sustainability and a business factor for German companies. corsus will conduct a study on human rights due diligence starting in June 2021.
The reason for the study on human rights due diligence is the draft law on corporate due diligence in supply chains passed by the German cabinet in March 2021. The aim of the survey is to investigate the status of compliance with human rights due diligence as well as drivers, approaches and challenges in and for companies. Human rights due diligence is understood to be the entire corporate process for complying with human rights along supply chains.
The survey is only available in German. The data will of course be collected anonymously and will not be traced back to companies or individuals. The completion time of the questionnaire is approximately 10 minutes.
