Daniela Freitag introduces herself

Four questions for Daniela Freitag, who joined corsus as a project assistant in October 2021:

What did you do before you came to corsus?

I grew up and went to school in Leipzig and completed my training as a bookseller there. The next stations were moving to Hamburg and entering the media industry there. First as a graphic designer and later as a career changer in media production for print products. For the last 20 years, I have been working as a chief of staff producing magazines and international customer and employee magazines in the B2C and B2B sectors. Now I am looking forward to supporting corsus with my knowledge and skills in project management, work organisation and documentation as well as quality assurance.

corsus advises on sustainability. What do you associate with sustainability?

I associate sustainability with almost all areas of life. It is very important to me not only to deal with resources in a conscious and respectful way, but also to deal with each other in an appreciative way. For me, sustainability also means to inform oneself, to look, to cultivate an open and humane exchange. There is no one clear solution in many areas – I think it is important to look at sustainability holistically and from as many sides as possible.

Is there an issue that is particularly close to your heart?

As an enthusiastic Birdwatcher, species and nature conservation are particularly important to me. At the same time, I find it necessary but also interesting to question how my own actions and actions affect nature, the community or dwindling resources. Not only do I want to know myself what I can contribute to a more sustainable society, but I also want to impart knowledge and pass it on – share my enthusiasm, convey joy, show that you can contribute a lot to sustainable living even with many small changes.

What are you working on at corsus right now?

What are you currently working on at corsus? I started working at corsus shortly after the launch of the Climate Impacts of Food project funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and the International Climate Protection Initiative. The aim of the project is to develop a globally applicable tool for communicating sustainability impacts of food. corsus is, together with TMG Research gGmbH, one of the partners of the project led by WWF Germany. The focus of my work is the administrative support of the project management at corsus. A particularly pleasant experience for me is the lively exchange of knowledge with all colleagues and the opportunity to participate in the content-related aspects of the project. I also take care of many organisational tasks that every office has to deal with on a daily basis.
