Fit for Biodiversity: Ulrike Eberle talks at conference in Brussels

The Fit for Biodiversity conference ‘Solutions for the agri-food sector’ will take place in Brussels on 6 and 7 October 2026. The event is aimed at decision-makers from the agri-food industry, academia, politics and NGOs. The focus is on pragmatic solutions for the protection and promotion of biodiversity in supply chains. Dr. Ulrike Eberle, Managing Director of corsus and corsus research, will talk about how to communicate the commitment to biodiversity.

The conference combines theoretical foundations, practical applications and political framework conditions in order to offer companies concrete recommendations for action. In addition to assessing biodiversity risks in supply chains, it also looks at the development of incentive schemes for biodiversity-friendly agriculture, as well as innovative tools such as remote sensing and genetic analysis to monitor ecosystems. The final topic of the conference on Wednesday is how companies can communicate their commitment to biodiversity clearly, credibly and effectively to consumers and the public. Dr Ulrike Eberle contributes to this discussion with her presentation ‘How to communicate biodiversity engagement to consumers?’. She will present findings from two representative surveys conducted in Germany as part of the research project ‘BioVal – Biodiversity Valuing and Valuation’ (BioVal – Valuing and Assessing Biodiversity), which she headed.

The event promotes the exchange between science, business and politics in order to develop biodiversity-friendly solutions for the agri-food industry. The conference takes place in the representation of the state of Baden-Württemberg to the EU and offers not only specialist lectures but also space for networking and interactive discussions.
