Forum KOMMUNAL 2026: Exchange on Resilience, Finances and the Future of Municipalities
From August 25 to 27, 2026, the municipal community will gather in Bingen am Rhein for Forum KOMMUNAL 2026. The event is aimed at mayors, district administrators, administrative executives, as well as representatives from science, business, and municipal companies. The focus will be on three central future-oriented topics: disaster management, municipal finances, and the future of rural areas—issues that are currently affecting numerous town halls and require strategic solutions. Contributing to the program are Dr. Anke Butscher, Managing Director of corsus, and Birte Kruse-Gobrecht, who will be co-hosting a workshop on „Resiliente Kommune – von der Analyse zur Handlungsfähigkeit“.

The workshop „Resiliente Kommune – von der Analyse zur Handlungsfähigkeit“ by Dr. Anke Butscher and Birte Kruse-Gobrecht addresses the current challenges faced by municipalities: climate change, social polarization, strained budgets, and an increasing workload in administrations are leading to the simultaneous occurrence of multiple crises. Resilience is thus becoming a central leadership task. The workshop makes resilience practical, concrete, and transferable. Participants will jointly analyze the current state of their administration and develop initial options for action, supported by a proven five-dimension model as a guiding framework. In doing so, Ms. Kruse-Gobrecht and Dr. Anke Butscher combine strategic consulting competence with expertise in municipal sustainability as well as personnel and organizational development. The goal is to support municipalities in strengthening their resilience, actively shaping change processes, and deriving concrete next steps for their own organizations.
