German Diversity Day: ‘When diversity wins, Germany wins’

The annual German Diversity Day, initiated by the Diversity Charter, emphasises the importance of diversity and inclusion in companies and institutions. corsus also actively participates in this day to highlight diversity in our company and give it a voice in these turbulent socio-political times.

corsus GmbH signed the Diversity Charter in December 2020. For us, it is a self-commitment and self-image to create a working environment that is free of prejudice and in which all employees receive the same appreciation and support. We take into account the various dimensions of diversity defined by the Diversity Charter in our internal work processes, in the composition of our team, in our choice of partners and in our work with customers. Mutual appreciation, openness to diversity, a healthy balance and compatibility of work, family, voluntary work and leisure are important values that are firmly anchored in our corporate culture. They are promoted by our corporate strategy with measures and further activities.

In recent years, many companies have made diversity and inclusion central to their objectives and strategy. They are committed to a diverse workforce in order to promote innovation, creativity and equal opportunities. Anti-discrimination programmes, diversity training and the promotion of underrepresented groups have become increasingly important. However, the current US government, among others, is taking massive action against diversity, equity and inclusion programmes and is also calling on companies based in Germany to distance themselves from diversity and equality programmes. Even though it is currently impossible to predict what the further effects will be, companies in Germany are well advised to take a clear stance against this socio-political development. They should clearly signal that they decide on their own HR strategy and take a stance to defend democratic values and a society of participation and diversity. And last but not least, they should see diversity as a means of combating all forms of simplicity and marginalisation.

corsus GmbH also sees itself as an active part of civil society and takes a clear stance on social issues such as diversity and inclusion that affect us as a company. By involving people from different backgrounds and perspectives in our consulting and participation processes, we create an environment that promotes innovation and creativity. We communicate on an equal footing, tackle internal conflicts of objectives in a constructive and solution-orientated manner and facilitate a mutual change of perspective.
