ECG accounting Diaconal Association Schweicheln
Since 2021, corsus has been supporting and advising the Schweicheln Diaconal Association on the accounting and implementation of the Economy for the Common Good.
In 2021, the seven facilities and the central administration of the Schweicheln Diaconal Association conducted a joint peer review in accordance with the values of the Economy for the Common Good (ECG). corsus reviewed the common good reports of the facilities and administration and accompanied the evaluation process to assess their contributions to the common good in terms of human dignity, solidarity, ecological sustainability or transparency of the facilities and administration. The evaluation represents a review of the contribution to the common good and the common good points in the individual balance sheets of the organisations and administration. Diakonieverbund Schweicheln e.V. is a leading provider of youth welfare, youth vocational assistance and other social work services with regionally based facilities and organisations in North Rhine-Westphalia, Berlin and Brandenburg. Its contribution to the common good is of central importance. The association uses the common good balance sheet as an instrument for the transparent presentation of its social, ecological and economic impact and implements potential improvements as a result of the balance sheet. corsus provided support and advice on the concept, structure and content of the report during the decision-making process and reviewed and commented on the Group report. In preparation for the audit of the ECG group report, corsus carried out a critical overall assessment and self-assessment of the diaconal organisation’s contribution to the common good with the management level of all facilities and the central administration. For Schweicheln, the Group report offered the opportunity to identify its strengths and weaknesses with regard to social and ecological aspects in the overall view of a group and to identify targeted measures to improve performance. It was particularly important for the Schweicheln Diaconal Association to emphasise the link between education and sustainability. As a youth welfare organisation that works closely with children and young people, they want to pass on sustainable concepts such as those developed at corsus to young people and thus make a positive contribution to society.
