Food Life Cycle Assessment

Life cycle assessments according to ISO 14040/44 are a core expertise of corsus. From life cycle assessments for individual products to entire food baskets, we have been carrying out life cycle assessments in the food sector on behalf of companies, non-governmental organisations or the public sector for many years. Due to the outstanding expertise of corsus, Dr. Ulrike Eberle has also been a member of the Scientific Committee of the International Food Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Conference since 2012, and will be Chair of the committee from 2018 – 2020. For many years, the conferences have been the spearhead of the development of methods for life cycle assessment. Every two years, scientists, company representatives and other practitioners meet to discuss the latest findings.

The 2020 conference, which took place virtually for the first time on 13-16 October 2020 due to the corona pandemic, was organised by corsus in cooperation with the German Institute of Food Technology, the ZNU-Centre for Sustainable Leadership at the University of Witten/Herdecke and Sphera.
