Sustainability strategy for the Plön district
corsus supports the sustainability management in the district of Plön in the creation of a regional sustainability strategy and moderates the associated events. Commissioned by the district of Plön, corsus is working in a tender consortium with OCF (Our Common Future Consulting) to provide expert advice and support, stakeholder participation, process support and process management for the sustainability strategy.
In 2019, the district decided to develop a sustainability strategy and commissioned corsus 2023 to support and moderate the process. The strategy is intended to raise awareness of the topic among all stakeholders as well as identify concrete measures for implementing and perpetuating sustainability in the district. It is based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The strategy is being developed with the participation of local stakeholder groups and builds on the inventory of the district’s sustainability management, which has been in place since 2022, as well as on the district’s strategic fields of action from 2012. The inventory presents the district’s projects, measures and concepts that have already been adopted and are currently being implemented and relates them to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
At the start of the project, corsus and OCF set up the necessary internal project committees together with the district and defined responsibilities and processes. This includes setting up and moderating an internal project group and an external stakeholder group with civil society and politicians to develop fields of action and guidelines. In addition to the specialist departments and employees of the administration, this also involves politicians and citizens working on the strategy as representatives of social institutions, non-governmental organisations, associations and other civil society institutions. In 2024, the interplay between administration, politics and civil society deepened and elaborated the interrelated aspects of the strategy. The seven fields of action, their guidelines and strategic goals were derived from the district’s strategic fields of action from 2012, updated and expanded where necessary. Building on this, the administration and stakeholders developed specific operational goals. By the autumn, measures will be developed in close coordination with the administration, which will be incorporated into a politically approved catalogue of measures for the overall strategy.
The project is commissioned and financed by the district of Plön.
