Sustainability strategy for the district of Plön, supported by corsus, adopted

The district of Plön has unanimously adopted a comprehensive sustainability strategy that points the way to social, ecological and economic development in the interests of the people in the district and beyond. Together with OCF Consulting, corsus has intensively supported the development of the sustainability strategy over the last two years and advised the district on this.
The district of Plön had already drawn up an inventory of the implementation of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals in 2023. The inventory formed the basis for the development of the municipal sustainability strategy.
The first workshop was held in November 2023 to plan the participation process and define the fields of action.

This was followed by further internal administrative workshops and two well-attended participation days with the specialist public in order to develop guidelines and objectives in an intensive exchange, which were then finalised with politicians. The administration contributed suitable, specialised measures that contribute to the objectives and was professionally supported by corsus and OCF.

The resulting strategy consists of seven fields of action as thematic priorities for sustainable development. In addition to social participation, the economy, environmental and climate protection, the focus was also on how the administration itself can position itself to be future-orientated and particularly citizen-friendly. Guidelines and goals were defined for each field of action. In order to achieve these goals, the strategy paper contains a catalogue of measures with a total of 128 measures, projects and activities.
