The 46th expert meeting of Biodiversity in Good Company in Berlin

On Thursday, the 46th expert meeting of Biodiversity in Good Company (BiGC) took place after the UBi-dialogue forum in Berlin. Dr. Ulrike Eberle, a biodiversity expert from corsus, represented corsus at the event in Berlin.

As usual, everyone meets up the evening before the expert meeting, after the UBi Dialogue Forum, for a friendly get-together. And as always, good conversations already take place there and plans to further advance the protection of biodiversity are discussed. The official part of the expert meeting begins the following day. This time, Dr. Johannes Förster from the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) and Nicolas Poolen from the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) started with their presentations on Thursday. They discussed developments in standard-setting for biodiversity and Nature Transition Plans.

Besides the introduction of new member companies – this time, Bioland e.V., EcoTree International and Ramboll Germany – members also present their latest activities. Ulrike Eberle shared that corsus is currently in the process of finalising the project ‘Monetary biodiversity indicators for pollinator services’ on behalf of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation. As always, the content of the expert meeting was very valuable. The exchange of information and knowledge with diverse companies from multiple sectors within the real economy, service and financial sector is always enriching – due to the inclusion of multiple and diverse perspectives and the variety of exciting activities from the members. It proofs again: Diversity pays off!

A big thank you to Commerzbank for the wonderful facilities and hospitality at Pariser Platz 1. And of course, to the team at Biodiversity in Good Company for always organising and preparing these meetings so well!

Tip: There are still spots available for member companies! Feel free to join and work together to protect biodiversity.
