The first virtual International Food LCA Conference 2020 was a success!
With more than 300 participants from all over the world, the online presence of the 12th International Food LCA Conference ended yesterday with the closing event. Due to the Corona pandemic, the conference, which this year had the motto “Towards sustainable agri-food systems”, took place virtually for the first time.
Thanks to the virtual format, around 500 tonnes of greenhouse gases could be avoided for travelling.
The exciting kick-off event with all keynote presentations by Johann Rockström (PIK), Christoph Heinrich (WWF Germany), Llorenç Mila i Canals (UNEP), Dr. Salman Hussain (TEEB coordinator), Grace Douglas (NASA), Christian Schulze-Wolters (IBM) and Peter Saling (BASF) and the recording of the panel discussion moderated by Anke Butscher from corsus will be available online on the conference platform for all registered participants until the end of November 2020. All submitted presentations and posters as well as the recorded discussions in the content forums are also available there and questions can be asked directly to the speakers and other participants until the end of November.
Registration is still possible: Registration FoodLCA2020
corsus organised this year’s conference together with the German Institute of Food Technologies (DIL), the ZNU-Center for Sustainable Leadership at the University of Witten/Herdecke and Sphera.
