corsus develops cotton Life Cycle Assessments for cotton made in Africa (CmiA)
corsus creates Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) for the cotton production and producers participating in “Cotton made in Africa (CmiA)”, one of the world’s leading standards for sustainably produced cotton. Aid by Trade Foundation (AbTF) sets the standard and commissions periodic reviews of the CmiA standard’s environmental impact to jointly improve cultivation conditions with local farmers. The standard aims to improve the living and working conditions of local small-scale farmers through a ‘help for self-help’ approach by using trade instead of donations and by promoting environmental protection.
