On 18 March, Martin Häusling from ‘Die Grünen / EFA’ in the European Parliament hosted a panel discussion on ‘Sustainability labels: consumer information or fraudulent labelling?’, in which various experts discussed the topic. Dr Ulrike Eberle from corsus took part in the event.
On 5 February 2025, Talita Amado from corsus participated at the Policy and Research Roundtable Dialogue on Integrated Climate-Nutrition Action. The pivotal roundtable event was co-hosted by FAO and the Government of France, bringing together policymakers, researchers, and global stakeholders to address two of the most pressing challenges of our time: climate change and malnutrition.

In December 2024, corsus published a White Paper within the project ‘CLIF – Climate Impacts of Food’. The aim of the White Paper is to identify the most appropriate impact assessment methods for selected environmental impact categories to be used for communicating environmental impacts of food.

In order to make nutrition more sustainable, assessment approaches are needed that link health and the environment and evaluate them together. The Planet Health Conformity Index (PHC), which was developed as part of the CLIF – Climate Impacts of Food project, addresses precisely this issue. In contrast to mono-dimensional indicators such as the Nutri-Score (focus: health) or the Eco-Score (focus: environment), a key figure has been developed that can provide a clear orientation for health and environmental aspects. In addition, the newly developed PHC also takes planetary impact limits into account in the assessment. The PHC can therefore provide more orientation in the labelling jungle.

Although the protection and promotion of biodiversity is one of the greatest challenges of our time, it is difficult to measure the impact of products and services on biodiversity. Dr. Ulrike Eberle, Managing partner of corsus, has been involved in developing a method to estimate the impact on biodiversity for life cycle assessments.
