On 29.09.2022 the well-attended public event of the model region Bastauniederung took place in the community center in Rothenuffeln. Of the more than one hundred visitors, agriculture was most strongly represented, but nature conservation, schools, interested citizens and the press were also present. The event was accompanied and documented by the graphical recording of Jai Wanigesinghe.
Corsus is working with municipal business development agencies to set up advisory services on fair business practices – apply now as a business development agency for the pilot phase!
corsus was assigned by BUKEA with the moderation in the large-scale nature conservation project “Hamburg, deine Flussnatur”. This task will be performed by corsus in close cooperation with the project leading foundation Lebensraum Elbe for the next three years.
On behalf of the Service Agency Communities in One World (SKEW), corsus advises and supports the city of Kiel in the development and implementation of an impact-oriented budget. An article on the model project has now been published by Julius Wenzig, Senior Consultant at corsus, and Sebastian Ohlmeyer, Project Manager “Globally Sustainable Municipality” at SKEW. The article is part of a dossier published by SKEW in cooperation with the editorial team of “welt-sichten”.
Municipalities in Germany are increasingly basing their strategic development on the guiding principles of sustainability or the common good. Both concepts complement each other and can be developed and implemented in an integrated way. This is the central finding of a study by the Bertelsmann Stiftung, the European Secretariat of ICLEI and the International Association for the Promotion of the Common Good Economy.
Sustainable Flensburg 2030: Online – Participation for the urban development strategy started on june 17th.
In Germany, around one in six euros is spent by the public sector (federal, state and local authorities). With this procurement volume of over €350 billion per year – or around 13% of the gross domestic product – the public sector has a decisive share in the demand for sustainable products and services. Slightly more than half of this expenditure is accounted for by municipal institutions. The switch to fair sustainable procurement holds great potential here.
On 23.04.2022, the members of the steering group met for their first meeting. 38 stakeholders from urban society and politics from the fields of social affairs, ecology, economy, governance, culture, integration, international affairs and science are working on developing an integrated sustainability strategy for Flensburg until 2023. The steering group is acting in an advisory capacity and is developing new municipal guiding principles as well as strategic and operational goals for Flensburg’s future direction.
corsus is moderating a project on the future of a peatland area in the district of Minden-Lübbecke. The aim is to bundle the interests of local stakeholders and to incorporate them into a common vision, drawn up as a basic principle.
