GHG Protocol establishes first Land Sector and Removals Standards

On 30 January 2026, the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol) published the Land Sector and Removals Standard (LSR Standard) – the first global standard for accounting greenhouse gas emissions from land use and CO2 removals. Taking effect on January 1, 2027, the LSR standard sets new benchmarks for the credibility, consistency and comparability of climate balances.

Economy for the Common Good: Marburg-Biedenkopf district takes on pioneering role

The district administration of Marburg-Biedenkopf is the first district administration in Germany to successfully complete a common good report in accordance with the criteria of the Economy for the Common Good (GWÖ). The district is thus sending a strong signal for transparent, responsible administrative action. Launch of the VSME portal of the German Sustainability Code (DNK)

On 9 September 2025, the new VSME portal of the German Sustainability Code (DNK) was launched. It is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that are not subject to the reporting requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) but still wish to report on their sustainability issues in a structured and transparent manner.

CSRD in the omnibus procedure: simplifications are coming – relevance remains
